Simulation tools have long been used for operator training and competence management on railway systems. However, due to their accuracy, these tools can be extended to use in railway modelling software.
Complex modelling techniques allow for replication of signalling infrastructure of any part of the running railway network, including station areas, yards and depot facilities, whether these are existing or planned. With Hitachi's railway modeliing technology, the integrity, operation and performance of a design can be fully tested of new or revised systems, or indeed changed operating patterns, prior to committing to a particular solution.
