Hitachi Panel Discussion Surrounding Mental Health Week 2023

Learn how we supported this year's Mental Health Week through an internal panel discussion focusing on anxiety.

This year, members of our marketing team attended an internal panel discussion considering mental health at work. As part of our support to mental health awareness week (15th-21st May 2023) the session focused on this year’s theme, anxiety. The Mental Health Foundation aspires to encourage conversations surrounding personal experiences to provide others with suggestions on ways to manage their anxiety.

The panel highlighted key risk factors including; the pressure of work, money, future plans, home life, rising prices, family pressure, and peer pressure. How these affect different demographics was also discussed in addition to ways to recognise anxiety and get support within the workplace, for example, buddy schemes, mentoring, and clear access.

Statistics show that 75% of those surveyed felt anxious at some level. At HICSE we want to encourage mental health support, for further information about mental health awareness week please follow the link: https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/explore-mental-health/blogs/why-anxiety-theme-mental-health-awareness-week-2023
