Supporting our local communities

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was established in March 1990 as a joint venture between the Wiltshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust and the Wiltshire Constabulary. Sharing resources kept costs down and the charity needed £700,000 a year to keep Wiltshire’s air ambulance in the skies.

In January 2015 they started operating a dedicated air ambulance which means they must raise £3.25m a year.

The charity is going to build a new airbase for the helicopter, aircrew and charity team. They received full planning permission in January 2017 for the new airbase on land at Outmarsh Farm, Semington, near Wiltshire.

Derbyshire Air Ambulance

Air Ambulance

Derbyshire Air Ambulance fly two regional helicopters, across the counties of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland. These two helicopters provide a rapid response to trauma and medical emergencies over an area of 3850 square miles covering many of the UK’s major road networks including the M1, M6, M69 and M42. With an average response of just 13 minutes, between them they attend on average 6 missions a day.

Macmillan Charity

In October 2016 a small team set off to walk part of the Macmillan way from Nunney (near Frome) to Bradford on Avon, a distance of approximately 20 miles. It was an extremely wet day but our intrepid team set off undaunted through the deluge

They completed the challenge in under 8 hours which given the conditions was a fantastic achievement. Huge congratulations to the whole team.
